Social Sins Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026 · Published by RideCan Corp, 501-216 Murray Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 5N1, Canada

Summary

The Social Sins game does not collect, sell or share any personal information. It runs entirely on your device. The only information we ever receive is what you choose to type into the optional beta tester sign-up on socialsins.org, and we never use it to contact you.

Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress, your avatar's name and look, and your settings in your device's local storage so you can pick up where you left off. This never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site's or app's storage, or by uninstalling the app.

Beta tester sign-up (socialsins.org only)

If you sign up to be a beta tester, we receive your name, your email address, the kind of phone you use, whether you turned on update notifications, and the date you signed up. This is kept in a private database that only RideCan Corp can open, hosted in Canada by Supabase as our service provider. The website can add your sign-up but can never read the list back.

Playing the free 5-minute preview needs no information at all.

Update notifications (optional)

If you choose to turn them on, your phone shows a notification when a new version of Social Sins is ready. The notification is created on your own phone when the game updates; we don't receive a device ID or push token and can't send you any other messages. Turn them off any time in your phone's or browser's notification settings.

Information the app collects

None. The game has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting services and no in-app purchases. In-game text messages are scripted characters, not real people.

Network connections

The app may download public fonts from Google Fonts to display text. Like any web request, Google may receive your device's IP address when a font is fetched; see Google's privacy policy. The game works offline without them.

Permissions

The Android app requests internet access (for the fonts above) and vibration (for haptic feedback). It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.

Children

Social Sins is intended for adults 18 and over and contains mature themes. The beta sign-up is for adults 18 and over; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and will delete it if we learn we have.

Changes

If the game ever starts collecting information, we will update this policy and the effective date before that change ships.
